Clouds 6 ist eine Reihe von Soloversionen für verschiedene Instrumente. Die Module der Clouds-Serie sind hier in unterschiedlich grossen und obligatorisch fixierten Gruppen aneinandergereiht. Es entsteht eine Folge von sowohl klar definierten Gestalten als auch diffusen Verläufen, statischen Zuständen und wolkigen Prozessen. Sprechend in einer undramatischen Form.

In   Clouds 8 spielen zwei unterschiedliche Instrumente diese Solopartituren gleichzeitig. Sie agieren unabhängig voneinander und mit vertauschten Abfolgen der Modulgruppen. Ähnlich ist    Clouds 9 für zwei gleich Instrumente angelegt.

Sowohl in Clouds 6 als auch in Clouds 8 und Clouds 9 wird das selbe poetisch-skurrile Zuspielmaterial verwendet. Zu hören sind Feldaufnahmen von Hallentennis, vorüberfahrenden Autos, einer Kaffeemaschine und ziehenden Gänsen. Sie fügen dem Stück eine weitere sowohl klanglich als auch semantisch unabhängige Ebene hinzu, die gleichwohl in vielen Momenten mit dem Instrumentalspiel korrepondiert.

Clouds 6 is a series of solo versions for various instruments. Here, the modules of the Clouds series are strung together in different sized and obligatory fixed groups.The result is a sequence of clearly defined figures as well as diffuse courses, static states and cloudy processes. In   Clouds 8, two different instruments play these solo scores simultaneously, They operate independently of each other and with exchanged sequences of the module groups. Similarly,   Clouds 9 is written for two identical instruments.

The same poetic-bizarre playback material is used in Clouds 6, Clouds 8 and Clouds 9. You can hear field recordings of indoor tennis, passing cars, a coffee machine and migrating geese. They add another layer to the piece—one that is independent both sonically and semantically—yet which corresponds with the instrumental performance in many moments.
